Privacy Policy for L.I.N.Q
Last Updated: June 10, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Watch Software (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in connection with L.I.N.Q (the “App”), a companion application designed for authorized users of our Blazor-based system. The App is intended for specific organizational use and is not available for public distribution.
1. Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum personal data necessary to provide the L.I.N.Q app’s services:
- Contact Information: Your work email address, used solely for login and account identification via Microsoft authentication.
- User Details: Name, initials, role, department, and access permissions (e.g., admin or charge hand), retrieved from our backend to personalize and control access to app features.
- Device Information: An Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token to enable system-related notifications.
- Usage Data: Limited technical logs (e.g., failed API calls) are stored locally to help monitor system health and support requests. These logs are not linked to your identity unless needed for support resolution.
We do not collect:
Biometric identifiers
Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
Location data
Health data
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Authentication: To verify your identity through Microsoft login and allow secure access.
- Access Control: To deliver appropriate features based on your role, permissions, and assigned tasks.
- Push Notifications: To notify you about job assignments, safety alerts, vehicle checks, and other important updates.
- Troubleshooting and Support: To diagnose issues and improve reliability. Any error logging is non-intrusive and limited in scope.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your data with third parties except:
- Microsoft (Authentication & Hosting): Your email and login credentials are processed through Microsoft Azure Active Directory. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Legal Compliance: Data may be disclosed if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or infrastructure.
- Internal Operations: Information may be accessed by authorized staff within your organization and Watch Software solely for support and system management.
We do not share any data for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Storage: Personal information is stored securely on our servers and Microsoft Azure’s infrastructure. APNs tokens are stored in our backend database to enable notifications.
- Security: We implement industry-standard measures, including encryption and secure APIs, to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
- Retention: We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the App’s services or comply with legal obligations. Upon account deletion or sign-out, data is removed from the App and Core Data, though some logs may persist for system audits.
5. Push Notifications
The App uses push notifications to deliver system updates. To enable this, we collect and store your device’s APNs token. You may opt out of notifications via your device settings, but this may limit App functionality. We obtain your consent for push notifications during setup, as required by Apple’s guidelines.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your region, you may have rights under privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
- Opt out of certain data processing (e.g., push notifications).
- Request information about data collection and sharing.
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@watch-soft.com. You can also manage notifications in your device settings.
7. Compliance with Apple Guidelines
We comply with Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines, including:
- AppTrackingTransparency: The App does not track you across third-party apps or websites or access your device’s advertising identifier.
- Privacy Nutrition Labels: We accurately disclose data collection practices in App Store Connect, including email, user details, and APNs tokens, as outlined above.
- Privacy Manifest: Starting May 1, 2024, we include a PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy file to declare API usage (e.g., NSPrivacyAccessedAPICategoryDiskSpace) and reasons for data access, per Apple’s requirements.
8. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with:
- Microsoft Authentication: For secure login using your work email. See Microsoft’s privacy policy for details.
- Apple Push Notification Service: For delivering notifications. Apple does not retain your data beyond delivery.
We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. Please review their policies for more information.
9. Data Collected via Web Traffic
The App communicates with our backend API (https://linqapi.c-r.ltd). IP addresses may be collected temporarily for API requests but are not stored or linked to your identity unless required for troubleshooting.
10. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email.
